Bleach: Hmm.. what?!

I keep noticing that Bleach has taken a high place in the anime world - why?!

Story that is Bleach is plain boring - and that is an understatement! Nothing ever happens! First 40 or so episodes were okay, I went through all of them and at the time I genuinely believed that this anime could develop into something interesting - but I was so off! The more I watched, the more irritated I became with the entire anime! First fight that occurs is constantly repeated throughout the entire anime (I didn't have the strength or will to read the manga).. Nothing new ever happens - everything evolves around Kurosaki Ichigo (the main character) becoming a Shinigami and him becoming stronger and stronger with everyone else being completely passive. He is the center of the story and everyone else seem to be there for no other particular reason but to help and 'worship' Ichigo.

Dialogues are barely there.. the same old phrases are being repeated over and over again about Ichigo becoming stronger and so on.. there is nothing too inspirational about this anime that would keep one watching it until the very end. Also there are filler SEASONS which aren't interesting or funny and only take away loads of time..

When it comes to animation it holds an average grade. It isn't bad but it could use some improvement. Actually, I think that animation is the only thing that's keeping this anime together! With it comes the humor.. there is a number of funny moments which are the stronghold of Bleach. If the anime were to be assessed solely on story it would score quite low but solid animation and bits and pieces of humor helped it score average instead of poor.

Also, going back to the characters - I have to say that there is a number of good and interesting characters that could have been used in a better way and which could have contributed to the anime's story and overall quality - but these were simply ignored and cast aside so cliche-like characters such is Ichigo could take the spotlight.

I realize that all of this sounds harsh as there are people working hard on bringing this anime to life.. but Bleach is simply overrated and unfairly compared to Naruto - Bleach lacks quality in so many aspects that it could never be compared to Naruto the way it is. I couldn't bring myself to watch it through 'till the end so I don't really know what happens - so, if you have nothing in the world else to do and if you are completely bored to death, watch it, even though there are much better anime out there told in fewer episodes but in much better quality than Bleach.
