Summary:
Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female death god (a.k.a Shinigami) named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits (Hollows), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other shinigamis explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world.
Ok, I'm sorry if I bust anyone's bubbles, but Bleach is in fact a good anime, but it's boring.
The only thing that kept me watching this is the humor and remarks the characters makes, a few fights and the captains, but other than that, it has a pretty weak story and development (which is a BIG no-no for me, since anime's with a weak story doesn't really get more than a 7/10 from me).
At first when I first started watching Bleach (around 2005) I though this was the "best anime out there", but clearly after watching over 100 titles till this day, I can say otherwise.
Each episode is draggy, but each episodes contains some sort of humor which is pretty hilarious. However, I an really disappointed in the story development.
I have trouble distinguishing the TRUE plot line of this anime.
As simple as one might say to me: "Bleach is about a human called Ichigo who gains Shinigami powers and fights off Hollows," yes we get that, but then what? The TRUE story starts off after the "saving Rukia" arc which is at the end of episode 63, and then what? We see Ichigo discover his "true" self, but what story? What PLOT does this anime revolve around?!
Despite the highly lacking clarification of this anime, it has decent entertainment and music, and the character art highly improves over time.
I guess if one were to really enjoy this series, might as well just watch Bleach until episode 63.
