clannad after story (i only hate this for making me cry in public... -.-)

pros
+ well-written storyline with extreme emotion in it
+ heart-wrenching emotions and bits of comedy mixed with some moral values and lessons for life to be learnt
+ fitting artwork and amazing music
cons
- slow start
- character cast is still slightly clichéd, though most of that takes a background seat now

conclusion: if you want something outwardly calm but inwardly heart-tearing, this is the anime to go for, and though it might be understandable without its first season, it's a lot more complete an experience if you watch both. amazing artwork, music, and emotion. once you get over a slow start, this anime throws you right into a highly climactic and sad turn of events that would send about anyone crying, and right when things started to calm down at last, the last ep started me up all over again. the atmosphere throughout the show is incredible, mixed with a good storyline, lessons for life, and bits of comedy here or there. impossible to hate... perhaps except for the fact that it made me cry my eyes out while i was at the airport (shoulda known better than to watch key in public -.-). not the generic action/emotion, and not exactly comparable to any other slice of life/romance/tragedy out there, but if you're into something seriously tearjerking and haven't seen this yet... you're so missing out.

peace.
