first of all, this anime is NOT for kids. Cobra seems like a very underrated anime to me. It appears to me that the original cobra anime was largely inspired by star wars (the american movie that was released in 1977). I suspect that for 2 reasons (1.)the cobra manga was released in 1978. and (2.)the content of the original cobra anime (not this series) referenced several things in star wars. however the appearance of the slave girl costumes in the original cobra series seems to predate the "princess leia slave girl costume" that appeared in 1983 (return of the jedi). There is nudity in this anime. which is why i do not recommend this anime for kids. It has alot of action, and the good thing is that it is not mindless action. most of the episodes are stand alone, they dont tie into each other until you get close to the end of the series.
downsides: its real short, and if you followed the original series this series could be kind of confusing.
