| Summary: |
Aired: Jul 5, 2016. Toward the end of the 19th century, Allen Walker officially joins the organization of Exorcists that destroy the beings known as Akuma; mechanic weapons made by the Millennium Earl with the suffering souls of the dead. Allen has both a cursed eye and an anti-Akuma weapon as an arm, bearing the power of "Innocence," a gift given to him as an apostle of God. Allen, along with his fellow Exorcists must put a stop to the Millennium Earl's ultimate plot that could lead to the destruction of the world and all who live on it. |

It ends with quite an open end where everything is open, questions are left unanswered, no real closure to anything at all. This anime feels like it needs another 10 episodes to fully explain everything and end the story. Also while watching it, I often had this feeling as if every episode threy in ten new things of which seven were barely explained while the other tried to be as well explained as possible.
We get a time-skip but except the main three, no one of the previous introduced characters adds anything to the plot. Crowly and Miranda for example are "just there" and we are told to pretend that they matter anything despite them doing nothing.
Kanda's background story makes up most of the season's plot, Allen does "something" but all in all it's just nothing.
Not a satisfying continuation, more like some kind filler that is meant to entertain me while the author writes the manga.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
