However, they soon find out that the asteroid is not their only threat, as powerful dragon-like creatures appear on Earth. After witnessing a murder by one of the creatures, Jin Kamishina gets involved in the mysteries of the dragons and becomes a dragon pilot, otherwise known as a "Dragonaut". Helping him on his journey is Toa, a mysterious girl who saves him from falling to his death after the creature attacks him. As they delve deeper into the mysteries of the dragons, they encounter new friends and enemies, and also begin to develop a closer relationship.

The pros: quite an interesting concept of human dragonauts riding powerful dragons after a process of resonance and dragons being born from eggs. Each dragon in his/her human form has distinctive personalities, very interesting characters and the relationships between different pairs of dragonaut-dragon are also very entertaining. I was excited from the very beginning. The transformation of dragons and their fighting styles were quite refreshing for a mecha anime. Toa - the main girl is so cool and it's indeed fascinating to watch a mecha series where the female protagonist is way stronger than the male one and keeps protecting him.

The cons: continuing with the previous point, it got to a point where seeing the main girl rescuing and protecting the main guy gets quite irritating. The truly strong guy isn't given enough love. Like a previous reviewer mentioned, character appearances were a problem as well. Granted, we see huge boobs everywhere in almost all anime series. However, with this anime, it's a bit too over the top and this style of animation sometimes prevents you from taking the story seriously. Other than this, the art is awesome. I enjoyed the first few episodes and as soon as i got enough explanations for the mysteries, i got bored and just skipped through to the end.

What a shame, it started out so well i was quite sure i would enjoy the whole thing :(
