Ryuugamine Mikado is a boy who longs for the exciting life of the big city. At the invitation of his childhood friend Masaomi, he transfers to a school in Ikebukuro. Masaomi has warned him about people he doesn't want to cross in the city: a champion fighter, an informant, and a mysterious gang called "Darazu." Nervous from Masaomi's stories, Mikado witnesses an urban legend on his first day in the city, the Headless Rider astride a black motorcycle. From then on, the existence of supernatural cases and a gang called the Yellow Turbans will rise to the surface, and Ikebukuro will pushed to the breaking point. |

This is a good anime, NOT a great one. Though at the beginning you may feel a bit lost but persevere, in the hope that all will be revealed in time. The good thing is that it has many layers and it makes you wanna see what will happen next; the information in one episode lets you predict what will happen in the next. So, its fun to find out what will happen next, cause, as expected, things don't turn out as you predict them to.
Plus, all characters are colored in, in time, and connections are shown between them. It shows how, even in a big city, we live in a small world. The characters are very very different, some are normal humans, some have powers, yet they all have some part to play....hmm this line of talk will go into spoilers now....so suffice to say, NOT boring, VERY interesting, and it gives some food for thought as well....worth giving a try.....

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
