Characters are very likable. (Erza is my fave female anime character). There's no basic story, it keeps shifting from one arc to another. Unlike One Piece or Naruto the characters don't seem to have a goal,but all characters have their own past and their own stories to tell which are worth the watch.
Each character has a magic ability. The fight scenes between mages are worth watching. The anime is very enjoyable and the comedy is also good.
OVERALL - Go ahead and give this anime a shot. I'm sure you'll enjoy it ;)

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
