First episode was really good. Party of noobs think they can take on Goblins but head out confident and woefully unprepared, guess what happens next? The Goblins may be low level but they are numerous, sly and haven't a shred of mercy in them.
Along comes our hero the Goblin Slayer, not to save the day, he's a bit of an anti-hero, he isn't there to save noob adventurers unless by accident, he's there to kill as many Goblins as he can. If this was an MMO or RPG game then he'd be stuck at slightly above noob level for months because he never goes after anything else unless by accident he comes across something. He doesn't try to level up going after better XP monsters.
After episode one it got a lot tamer like maybe they realised just how much of a punch episode one had that maybe it was a little too much so reined it back a little. The animation and sound and voices are solid. The combat is good, they use magic and scrolls, potions and tactics, there is a varied team (Once he finds a team to join) there is a busty farmgirl he ignores, Oh and he never takes off his helmet...even to eat soup and sleep, which is a bit of a cop out for me, so they never have to draw his face and his head with the helmet but really, who eats soup through a helmet visor!
Enjoying it so far, its a good solid anime and episode one was just brutal. They have done a good job of converting the adventurers guild from a game to an anime in a realistic way including the levelling system, that was interesting and cleverly done.
