Summary: In the year 2010 AD, Hyper Hurricanes born concurrently all over the world caused severe damage. Five billion people lost their lives, decreasing the world's population to 3 billion. Existing economies and militaries were wiped out. Countries were frozen under solid ice, plains sank beneath seas, the world was changed dramatically. Human civilization enters a chaotic era. Poverty flourished outside of these ecomomic zones and slums were widespread. The ruling class called themselves Logos and maintained their position by force of arms. They call the poor Revenus, who are exiled to live outside the special economic areas. Time has passed since then. Katsuragi Jo and Tsurasawa Jin, escape from Phantom, a force organised to watch Revenus and to suppress renegade elements of the Logos, taking with them a mysterious girl, Noto Sana. There are many who are interested in her, all with their own reasons. ( Cited from Anime News Network).

As a romantic fangirl, i'm a total sucker for loyal male characters protecting a main female. This anime is almost perfect in that respect. The ending was conclusive, but not in the way i was hoping. Along the way there were plenty of romantic moments, even though it's not that kind of romance, since Sana is still just a little girl. For the first half Jo was too much of a supporting character, i cried for joy when he started to steal the show from Jin. Even though i'm the type who tends to root for the main girl no matter what kind of character she is, Sana initially annoyed me, partly because of the high-pitched girly voice too often used in anime. But i gradually warmed up to her, and found her genuinely cute, which is rare, since i'm more of a fan of cool females.

The story is very interesting, and halfway through there is a huge surprise, a twist i didn't expect, but i was rather glad it turned out that way. The battle scenes are never too long so i wasn't bored. I always appreciate mecha series which have a main non-warrior female among the main males instead of a lineup of only males. Those series are always more refreshing and exciting for me. Overall, i enjoyed this anime so much i finished it in a day :D
