Mikiya Kokuto finds himself intrigued by two things. The first is by Shiki Ryougi a beautiful, yet rather unsociable, girl and the other is the strange series of violent deaths that start occuring in his town. As he attempts to get closer to Shiki, he soon learns that the two are connected and that there are many supernatural forces at work which could very likely get him killed as well. |

While the story was really compelling, there was the beautiful animation and character styles, with some familiar voices as the lead characters! It was fun to notice the characters likenesses to other characters from Type-Moon's other series such as Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime.
For anime fans who are into Type-Moon's work, but not really into blood, gore and nudity; it's best not to watch this series. If you can get past that, then enjoy the interesting storyline, quirky characters and the music (that's great too)! It's a movie series that really makes you think, keeps you guessing and always interested!
Don't be put off by the movie-length "episodes", it's an awesome series!

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
