Summary: Kirishima Haruto is your average Hiroshima Prefecture countryside Japanese student that is about to start his 3 year High school life. But before that happens a girl from Tokyo, Eba Yuzuki, whose father is the friend of Haruto's father, shows up at his house to live with him and his family so she can attend the same high school. Haruto isn't happy of the situation; a stranger that happens to be a girl of his same age, not his relative, living in the same house like him will cause complications. Truth is Haruto has another girl in mind, Kanzaki Nanami, whom Haruto has hidden romantic feelings for since middle school. And so starts his complicated life.

It's too early to judge this one once and for all; however, like the title says, I found Kimi no Iru Machi's first episode to be quite enjoyable. Its story has potential, the characters are interesting and not too stereotypical, and the emotion is definitely there. The art looks pretty and colourful, and the music is quite well-done; only the animation technique could need some more fluidity IMHO.
My bigger gripe is that the first episode throws you right into the midst of the story and leaves you hanging as to what's going on in terms of backstory/setup. Lots of things are hinted at, yet it's not quite clear to me what's going on. It's still early, so that's not necessarily a bad thing, yet it is something I'm not used to from shoujo dromcoms (drama/romance/comedies). I hope the next few episodes are going to uncover some more of the bigger picture.
Either way, Kimi no Iru Machi so far looks like an entertaining series with definite potential in terms of plot and character/relationship development. 8.5/10 from me, however that's a mere first impression and probably not to be taken too seriously. ;)
