Takao, who is training to become a shoemaker, skipped school and is sketching shoes in a Japanese-style garden. He meets a mysterious woman, Yukino, who is older than him. Sooooo beautiful... dramatic, romantic, sad, realistic, just so emotional >.< topnotch characters and dialogue, and the art's one of the best too!
Really, if I were to complain, it'd be that slightly open end if anything at all... but nvm... this is some of the best we can expect from Makoto Shinkai... so go watch it! ;P
