| Summary: |
Rokujou Miharu is a boy who has a hijutsu (hidden technique) living inside of him. This hijutsu is the power of creation. Many ninja clans are seeking it as the one who possesses it becomes the ruler of the ninja world. Rokujou's classmate Kouichi started a nindou ("Way of the Ninja") club at school with Kumohira, his English teacher. Both Kouichi and Kumohira are secretly ninjas. They tried to persuade Rokujou to join the ninjutsu club. At first, he was reluctant, but after being attacked by group of ninjas trying to get his hijutsu, he joins. He must become the Ruler of Nabari in order to survive. |

This anime is a pleasure to watch - it's hard to pull off ninjas in contemporary day after all and this is something that is done well here. The action is good, the story is decent (the whole idea of the boy/girl who has extreme hidden powers that is protected by the good and desired by the evil is always appealing after all), and the characters are pretty well fleshed out. What made this anime fall a little short of great for me was that the story wasn't really developed far or well enough, and that Rokujou, except for his powers, is mostly useless. This anime is mostly about the beginning of everything and needs a sequel or special or a couple of ovas to do the story justice. But if you're looking for ninjas, action, friendship, mysterious power, and drama, then you won't be disappointed by this anime!

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
