Title(s): Ouran Highschool Host Club
Ouran Koukou Host Club (Japanese)
Ouran Host Club : Le lycée de la séduction (French)
Creator: Bisco Hatori
Genres: Comedy, Drama
Age Group: Teenagers (May contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity)
Vintage: April 4, 2006
Status: Completed
Summary: Haruhi Fujioka, a normal high school student, receives a scholarship to attend Ouran Academy, a school for the rich and privileged, only to discover that at Ouran, virtually anything is allowed. Haruhi accidentally stumbles upon the Host Club, a club made up of six beautiful young men with nothing better to do than to entertain their female classmates, who, likewise, have nothing else to occupy their time. Due to a series of unforeseen events, Haruhi is forced to join the Host Club in order to repay a debt. This outrageously hilarious series follows the stories of these hansom and whimsical young men as they try to help and entertain their fellow students, and the story of Haruhi, who is desperate to graduate from high school as normally as possible while dealing with the antics of her eccentric new group of rich friends.

I must say i thoroughly enjoyed this anime even though its far from what i'd usually watch which would be the epics such as Code Geass or To Aru Majutsu No Index etc. Having watched the first few episodes and laughed my ass off, i decided i couldn't get enough, i had to have more. And very very quickly i realised i had finished.

At only 26 episodes its not the longest series by any stretch of the imagination, there is practically no storyline with each episode standing on its own, although previous episodes and characters are referenced later in the show which was a nice touch. Great voice acting and while there isn't much diversity in the soundtrack, it certainly fits the show.

The animation is good and the studios talents really shine in the shows few fight scenes. Although its not an overly action packed anime, i very much enjoyed it.

I recommend this show to anyone who enjoys a good hearty laugh every once in a while or those who just need something to fill the void until the next release of their favourite series.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
