| Summary: |
The story explains the day-to-day of a college freshman just starting a new life in the School of Literature Department of Tama University. While he grew up with his sister, he left and lived by himself when she got married with a man who had two daughters from previous marriages. He tried to distance himself from that family and so he moved out to live on his own. About 3 years later he was asked by his sister to visit and babysit the girls which suddenly turned his life upside down when the girls' parents went missing. He now has to live with the three daughters of his sister; with which two (from a previous marriage) are not related by blood: a tsundere (14 years), a little demon (10 years) and a small girl (3 years). In a six tatami mat size room. |

I found papa no iutoko wo kikinasai to be an amazing and compelling amine, the main character is a hard working, strong willed individual who gets put in a position to take care of his 3 younger nieces. His personality attracts alot of side characters from his club as school, the "Sightseeing club" and each side character plays an important role in shaping the main characters in the anime. It's very touching in that the 4 of them are living together making ends meet and doing what has to be done even in the toughest situations, everything from growing up early, to food, to almost being evicted, to getting over their losses (didn't want to spoil what happens). I wouldn't say its a tear jerker but it is masterfully made and I truly look forward to a second season which could or could not happen due to the ending.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
