Aired: Apr 3, 2016. Suddenly, high school student Subaru Natsuki has been summoned to another world on the way back from the convenience store. With the biggest crisis of his life being summoned to another world, and with no sign of the one who summoned him, things become even worse when he is attacked. But when he is saved by a mysterious, silver-haired girl with a fairy cat, Subaru cooperates with her to return the favor. When they finally manage to get a clue, Subaru and the girl are attacked and killed by someone. Subaru then awakens in the place he was summoned and notices he gained the ability "Returns by Death" and has become a helpless boy that only has the ability to rewind time by dying. Beyond the despair, can he save the girl from the fate of death? |

This anime is excellent.
There is enough of basically everything you could want that it just simply doesn't fall short of complete entertainment.
I straight up binge watched 25eps in a day and was wishing there was more to go.
The story is great, it starts like any other sucked from earth to a parallel world story, but then crushes that sub-genre by simply ignoring its rules. The MC is not powerful and is not the protagonist you expect, but the story just sucks you in and runs away with you as you watch the MCs struggle.
The dialogue is pretty standard to be honest, but the way it is laid out and the emotion entailed is enough to propel the scripting into the category of great. The emotion laced with the wit is where I thought it shined.
The animation is pretty high class for the majority of the anime. I noticed a few places that seemed to lack the same polish the rest had, but I find no fault as I think it was supposed to be that way. I think the animation was great.
The entertainment for me was simply excellent. I found the show hard to not watch and wanted more. As I neared the end I could actually feel myself getting a bit sad that it was about to end, and while I type this I want more. We need another season. This anime was excellent.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
