| Summary: |
A shy and unconfident teenager, Itou Makoto, has resigned to stealing glances at a cute girl as they ride the same train each morning on their way to their high school. At least until Saionji Sekai surprises Makoto and chances a peek at a photo-snap of the beautiful Katsura on his cell-phone. After evilly teasing Makoto about his hopeless crush, Sekai offers to support him in his romance. So after many Makoto-pep-talks and lots of scheming, the three become close friends. Close enough that Makoto braves asking Katsura out on a date. And she agrees. Later that day, Makoto finds a quiet moment to express his thanks for all support that Sekai has offered him, and makes clear his intent on finding a way to repay her kindness. But he is totally unprepared and very surprised at the reward that Sekai has chosen. Sekai steals a long kiss from his lips, before breaking away to run for the train. Sekai turns and wishes Makoto well on his date.

pros
+ chara development feels natural (at first you don't even notice when it starts taking you a darker way)
+ not much to complain in the unfolding of the story
+ has a strong meaning/message to it
cons
- extreme story, starts harmless enough but soon simply needs a "horror" tag >.<
- fucked-up charas
- setting is nothing short of strange for this kind of turn-out
conclusion: twisted, extreme, and quite honestly takes the cake as the most fucked-up ever in a slice of life genre. could hate each character with a passion, especially the mc, which never happened to me before. the concept works due to smooth story unfolding (with insane twists btw), believable chara development and emotions, but it could have been done in any setting; in a high school it's just strange. let me spoiler the slightest bit and say they should add psychological thriller/horror to the genres, seeing as the end is nothing but mind-fucked. has a clear message but whoever expects a soft school romance with ecchi and comedy, as the tags promise one... don't watch, just don't. this is good in its own ways (educative, with a storyline you can never quite figure out, and if you want so a connection to reality) but at the same time it's absolutely mindfucked and very very far from the happy fluff you expect.
