| Summary: |
Yugi Mutou is a young boy who solves the Millennium Puzzle, wishing for true friends. While he managed to get some friends—Katsuya Jonouchi, Hiroto Honda and Anzu Mazaki—he also gains a mysterious host. Whenever someone hurts or threatens one of Yugi's friends, Dark Yugi takes over Yugi's body and challenges them to a game of duel monsters(But sometimes other games as well).
Seto Kaiba, world champion of the Duel Monsters trading card game, attempts to steal a rare card that Yugi's grandfather possesses. After obtaining it through dirty means, Dark Yugi challenges him to a Shadow Game, Yugi beats Kaiba by using Exodia The Forbidden one, given to him by his grandfather. Obsessed with defeating Yugi to determine who is stronger, Kaiba recruits four gaming experts, the "Game Masters," throughout the series to try and defeat Yugi and test the limits of his strength. |

this anime is the title of the first anime series based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. it is a definate watch for any yugioh fan wanting to know the origin anime. this anime was later followed by yugioh duel monsters with a new art style that we all still see today in 5ds. this toei anime is adapted from the early volumes, telling the origins of Yugi's Millennium Puzzle and the Shadow Games that he plays. the level of violence was reduced between the manga and the anime. if your already a fan of yugioh you'll want to watch this. let me warn you that is is different from the norm you're used to when it comes to yugioh. it deals with many different games besides cards and shadow games are more frequent. this anime if full of action, adventure, suspense, humor, fun, romance, and all sorts of games. i added this anime to the list to help better the site. the files i have are of hd quality and i'll upload them soon. enjoy.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
