Beautiful and Amazing!

This is the sequel to Natsume Yuujinchou (Natsume's Book of Friends) so if you haven't watched that yet, start there. This anime is truly a work of art - it's beautiful, the main character is gorgeous in and out, there are rich, sad, complex, happy tales filled with youkai for every episodes, sometimes there is outright horror, the relationship between Natsume and Nyanko Sensei is both hilarious (they're always fighting) but wonderful since they're loyal to each other and both friends and master and bodyguard. Natsume believes that humans and youkai should not fear but understand one another and he's such a pure soul, that you can't help but love him. There is action and adventure but not of the martial art type. Natsume is an onmyouji of a certain type but rather than seeking to purify, destroy spirits, he wants to help them and set them free.

This anime is on par with all the greats and exceeds most of them in visual and thematic beauty. It really moves your heart! Hope you give it a shot.
