Funny, Complex Story, Lots of Action

If you're looking for subtle shounen ai, bishounen, humor (the anime is sometimes really funny with slapstick humor and great dialogue), lots of action, a different type/concept of magic, and an interesting story then this is the anime for you. Male audiences might be a little turned off by the male to male closeness but it's subtle enough that it might work out. I hear that a second season will be in production which is great because the story has not even really begun with this one season. The characters are great, maybe the downside is that the main character is a little young, but who knows, maybe they'll make him older in the next season. There is an interesting take on religion - it's not quite Catholicism but there are concepts of demons and the demonic mixing with the saintly that is interesting. The bishops are awesome~ not portly, overly goody folks but kick-ass, magic wielding, dark history holding, guys. Everything and everyone's quite good to look at, which is a plus. The storyline, especially the history of the warring empires and the main character's own role as either future destroyer or savior is interesting and still not completely revealed.
