Why I think you should watch this anime:
1.It's an enjoyable story.
2.Excellent character development – the author doesn’t simply develop the MC but gives a good all round development to his team + to the support characters to lesser extent
3.Good tension – the author is an expert at making tense games that make the show more enjoyable
4.Well-developed side teams – the author doesn’t simply develop the MC's team but also the teams of his opponents. You will often come to like them almost as much as the main team
5.It’s very realistic: in its development of the MC + other characters, in the way it demonstrates how every team that enters a tournament has dreams of making the nationals and in the way it captures the real-life struggles teams have to go through. It’s not an anime where the protagonist easily wins but rather emphasises some of the real-life struggles he + his teammates have to go through
6.It regularly surprises you and it’s not a simple we can always predict who will win anime
7.It makes good use of rivals both within + outside the team
(Possible) problems:
[I say possible as I may not actually consider them problems. However, I understand others might]
1.Due to the realistic development of characters the pace can be a bit slow. (I personally think this works and that the anime is still good when it’s slow. It just becomes absolutely amazing when it gets going).
2.Due to the development of other characters the MC is not the entire focus of the anime – However, it would probably be more accurate to say that there are a couple of MCs rather than just one.
3.The author makes good use of tension, as I said. However, this means the anime uses a lot of cliff-hangers.
4.Sometimes the anime tries too hard to make a cliff-hanger + thus makes the previous episode boring. Thankfully this is not a regular occurrence.
5.The author likes to go from highs to lows + back to highs. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing the author sometimes spends too much time on the lows which can be annoying (although it does make the following high even more amazing + adds to the realism of this anime) (show less)
