Summary:
Kaoru Hanabishi, a college student who lives alone, met a beautiful but bewildered girl dressed in kimono at train station. He volunteered to guide her way to the address she was looking for, which looked like in his neighborhood but turned out to be an empty lot. Not knowing what to do next, Kaoru invited the devastated girl to his apartment and asked for additional clue -- a photo with two children whom Kaoru immediately identified as himself and Aoi Sakuraba, his childhood friend. It turned out that the girl in front of him is Aoi Sakuraba herself, his betrothed fiancée who came all the way to Tokyo to marry him. Her revelation was not only surprising but also reminded the deepest part of Kaoru's memory for why he left the Hanabishi family in the first place.
My favorite stories are always ones that put a twist on a theme. On the surface it looks like a simple Harem anime (A child hood friend shows up to remind the protagonist of their marriage pact), however; there is no indecision from the protagonist, and most of the other girls only have a mild interest in him. It's very refreshing to see a romance where the lovers actually trust eachother. The characters have a great deal of depth and you get invested in each of them.

I do love the dialogue of those lovely birds, Kouru Hanabishi and Aoi Sakuraba. It's kinda made me felt full of joy and sadness about this anime. I do love very much. I think if I also have a person such Aoi Sakuraba, I would take care of her very much as I can. Also the theme song of this anime "Towa no Hana" made me remind of this anime. Very sad cause I was done watch it. (T_T) I very do love it(sorry for said it twice :p cause i do love very much!)
A very romantic storyline. This was my first romantic anime that I watched and it really gave me a very good first impression on animes with romantic plots. Definitely worth watching. at least it gave me the need to look for a second season which indeed was released soon after. Try watching, it makes you remember your love ones.
I'm not sure why someone wrote a bad review based on the English dub... makes me wonder why they didn't look for the Subbed version (which is always better in my opinion). Oh well... this anime is great! The story is solid, Aoi is the perfect character to compliment this series. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this anime, and feel it’s a must for anyone who enjoys these types of genre!

Loved the series. After I was done I immediately wanted to see the next season. You can really sympathize with the main characters and see how the struggle through the story to keep their feelings true. Some characters may seem somewhat cliche at first but as the series story progresses the viewer can see there's more depth to the characters.
