pros
+ gem in uniqueness and thought, touches on real life problems, unfair deeds and unfulfilled dreams in today’s world
+ unique plotline with many genres and excellent character development
+ superb music adding to emotion-laden scenes (believe me... there's a lot of those)
cons
- somewhat compressed plot, esp. towards the end
- unlike most Key anime, not all characters are elaborated upon
- animation has a few hiccups

conclusion: sure, this series could be even more excellent did it last for 24 episodes. but nonetheless, it's one of the best out there imo. philosophy, humour, action, emotion, with a connection to reality despite the surreal/supernatural touch. unique, with a good plotline, superb character development, excellent music, and overall still good animation, the good strongly outweighs the bad on this one. might cause tears though, so have a tissue box prepared if you're prone to crying -- or rather, don't watch at the airport, as i did. (didn't cry, but it was a close call on the last seconds.) might not be for those into the totally generic, but everyone looking for something more emotional or philosophic with some action and humour, look no further.

peace.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
