A very dark and obscure story that does catch your attention throughout and draws you into the series. A lack of information given to you throughout the series is what keeps you interested in the story and what will keep you watching.

That is, until roughly the last few episodes where the plot and progress of the story does take a bit of a dive and I found myself being disappointed by how things suddenly transpired. The ending feels rushed compared to how the plot had progressed and it doesn't quite fit well with how the story had progressed so far up to that point.

A few words of warning. DO NOT watch the OVA before the series, it will give away some important details.
One other major negative is the music, I think they could have done better on that.

But overall, a very good anime and I would definitely recommend it to everyone who likes dark, thriller type stories. (show less)

26 years ago, in a third-year classroom of a middle school, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, the charming girl was popular with her classmates. When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation. Then, in the spring of 1998, a boy named Sakakibara Kouichi transfers to that classroom, and he grows suspicious of the fearful atmosphere in that classroom. In particular, there is a beautiful, aloof girl named Misaki Mei who wears an eyepatch and is always alone drawing pictures.Drawn to her mysterious aura, Kouichi tries to touch her, only to discover that the mystery goes deeper than he ever thought. If someone doesn't like yaoi - DON'T WATCH IT (they are listed as such!), if you don't enjoy mature or ecchi...same goes for you!! DON'T WATCH IT!!!! If you can't be objective then don't leave meaningless reviews! I've had it with these stupid comments...if you're life is THAT boring...try to find something else to do...PLS!!!!

Now to this Anime. The animation and the story-line is good, but it is not an breathtaking anime, one you absolutely have to watch. It's enjoyable. (show less)
