Most random show I ever encountered. Basically skit-based, with a slice-of-life feel to it, funny characters, though you easily lose track due to their sheer number (and a limited number of eps). Many jokes are either situational sarcasm, puns/idioms, or relate to Japanese culture and habits. Hilarious if you understand it and don't mind randomness, but if you're Western, you might need subbers who love to explain. D:
I have to say I didn´t initially find the humour very funny, but I warmed up to it after a while. Its not hysterically funny, but it did make me chuckle every now and then. Though the zany over the top style of the humour might not be everyones cup of tea. Seeing as there is no overarching plot it gives the show a sort of slice-of-life feel(despite its unusual characters) and there are even some quite endearing moments between the two main characters. For such a short show it has a suprisingly huge supporting cast with many varied personalities (read more)

Want a short romance show that isnt full of cliches(not that there is anything wrong with that every once in a while)? Give this a look. Now, on to the sequel to see if it keeps up with the same level of quality or if it even surpasses it :) (show less)
to put it simply.. if you dont like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei! then you will not gonna enjoy this anime either.
but i like this.. made me laugh here and there :)
