Summary:
Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler who is bound by a supernatural contract to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the twelve-year-old head of the Phantomhive noble family and the business-savvy owner of the Funtom company, a toy manufacturer. this anime was so fucking faggoty and bad that it has made me decide to give up my life on the internet, shortly after writing this review i will go ass naked in the jungle and live there for the rest of my days while fucking the snakes there for pleasure, this is truly a masterpiece because it motivates you to completely fucking shove a 7 foot pole up your ass while snipping pieces of your dick off with a rusty knife

Awesome story line and i like Sebastian so much XD
Dark but once you start watching, you'll love it. You end up sympathizing with Ciel & actually admire Sebastian, even though he's the demon. To me, it appears they form a sort of friendship or rather mutual respect for one another. Hope it will continue as I'm still following the manga.

Pretty dark in its background plot with twists, action, horror, sarcastic to sadistic humour, and excellent artwork, this is a great piece for everyone who wants an anime with gothic appeal. Beautifully designed characters and character dynamics. The BL appeal isn't quite as heavy as is rumoured ;) Differs from what I've seen of the manga, but still easy to appreciate in itself.
I thought this anime was really, really good. It often had funny moments, there was a general suspense in the story line, and the characters' backgrounds were develloped.
At the beginning I thought maybe that this was a vampire/bloodsucking/only-for-girls serie, but it isn't at all. Although the story is set to England in the early 1900s, there is a continous dark and omnious tone in the setting, but this is coherent with the story and the location of the events. It serves to leave a mysterious impression of the main character and his butler. (read more)

I especially liked the short episodes with the servants of the mansion, which serve to "break" the dark tone of the plot for a while, and completely change the mood.

this is a good anime for those who let a little bit of crime sovling
theres loads of laughs and its gripping to the end
and if you like this anime you'll find the 2nd season under the title of Kuroshitsuji II (japense name)

Story: Mainly a mystery-fantasy with a historic frame, fast paced but easy to get into and easy to follow. Dialogue: Flows excellently; dry humour, serious dialogue, and action are balanced well. The seiyuu are doing a great job on this anime, too.
Animation: Amazingly detailed, smooth, and quite realistic artwork. Do be warned, either the OP or ED song WILL get stuck in your ears.
Entertainment: Lots of comedy, some ROFL-worthy sarcasm, over-the-top characters that are just lovely. Some of the humour's rather dark though. Since it's not entirely twisted, I could deal with it easily, but you might want to consider that point.
Definitely a change of pace from the generic stuff overall. Perhaps geared towards the female audience, but Black Butler is a mystery/fantasy/comedy definitely worth the watch IMO.

Great anime for the mystery lovers. Second season's good too try watching it after.
