Summary:
Okajima Rokuro is a Japanese businessman…in a town full of Japanese businessmen. His normal day consists of social drinking with clients and being kicked around by his bosses. He finally gets a break though, as he’s sent by his company to the tropical seas of Eastern China to deliver a disc…only his boat gets hijacked by a band of mercenaries that were hired to steal it. “Rock” (as he is newly dubbed by his captors) catches the interest of the only female merc “Revy” as she thinks he’s worth a ransom, taking him hostage. However, the disc turns out to be more trouble than its worth, and complicates things both for Rock, and the mercenaries known as Black Lagoon.
So much has been said about this show already, but I´ll try adding something of my own, just for the heck of it. The show moves at a great pace, almost never going slow, and it has some great characters, from all across the moral spectrum(get ready to learn how many shades of gray there is on the wrong side of the law). One of my favorite characters(a character which I am sure I am not alone in picking) is Revy. Not only is she smoking hot, but she also has this ass-kicking attitude, and a bloodlust that makes her male peers look like harmless (read more)

So all in all, a pretty entertaining show. If you like gangsters and a lot of guns(I think they must have used about 1000 bullets per episode or something) you won´t be dissapointed in checking this out. Hoping the sequel will be just as satisfying when I move on to it :) (show less)

The show has a lot of turning of events. Show is fun to watch and is very entertaining.
The main problem with this anime is that I didn't always feel the need to continue watching. The story was good but it didn't really pull me in.
Dialogue doesn't contain that much humour but otherwise it's well done.
Only some of the archs were captivating. I definitely didn't regret watching but it wouldn't have been my first choice.

Good characters, and very original story line.. I would have liked the main character to at least carry a weapon but I guess his intelligence makes up for his lack of man strength. Side stories definitly keep you entertained and strung along. This is not a fanservice anime so dont look for it. finished it in 2 days. Not exactly what you would call a light series due to some lengthy dialog but balanced out pretty well, and whats there not to like about modern day pirates and crazy russians?? =-)
