Mugen no juuin isn't just a good sword fighting anime, it have a deeper meaning than that. Probably the anime is not very the best adaptation of the manga, and this is my biggest complaint. I yearn for the second season! (show less)

Blade of the Immortal is a solid series. It has everything I could ever ask for! It's violent, brooding, satirical, and funny.
The characters are so well made that you can easily believe in, sympathize with, root for them.
The animation in this anime is fluid even in fast-paced scenes.
The story will defenitely 'grab' your attention and you simply can't tell what will happen next.
The only bad thing is that 13 episodes are very few for an anime like this. Even given the tendency of anime series to condense the stories to (read more)

Random trivia: Manji notably bears the symbol of a Swastika on his back. In Eastern culture the symbol has a deep spiritual meaning over the common Nazi symbol.
All in all, I think you are loosing big time if you like this kind of anime and still haven't watched it.
