The digital animation is good. There are other good bits. But there are too many failures to give it a good rating. Too many situations where characters do things that don't make sense for that character.
The fight scenes are very well done. But if that's all that interests you, the stuff between the fight scenes will bore you - if not actively annoy you.
The bits of the story which rise to Excellent are dragged down by the many poor bits. Thus average overall, at best.

the story is so realistic for an anime. it shows the pain and sorrow so well.
Although I'm not into mecha typed animes I really enjoyed Blassreiter! Fights were not that great to me, but the development of plot and action was just fantastic. Deep and original characters made this show interesting to watch, especially Joseph - an living example of self-sacrifice, somewhat irritating but with meaningful reasoning. Friendship, betrayal, appreciation of life, death, pride, atonement and hope are mixed together and that was so interesting! It didn't take much time to watch all eps :)

it was such a good anime i reccomend this to people
The very first episode had me hooked with the blend of cell-shading and conventional anime style graphics, which were used extensively during fight scenes and other dramatic moments. It's been a while since I had seen this series, so I cannot say much for the story line other than it didn't suck nor was it award winning. The main characters are lovable, whether they are doing good or bad - so perhaps the narrative was well played.
If you're into sci-fi anime with a blend of the demonic and twisted, then this worth the look into. If you want a (read more)

Not that i'm bluffing but you could have miss out a gem for not knowing this anime. Story is made by i dunno who the heck he is but he was the one who made the storyline for Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Oh, his name is Urobochi Gen if not mistaken.
Story is indeed very heavy yet it could have been an entertainment to the MAX for those who love brutal story, desperate fighting and action, awesome babes and characters.
And about the characters, Joesph is NO WHERE NEAR so called Kira Yamato cause Joesph is more awesome than that overrated guy. (read more)

Don't try to compare this anime with those popular ones because this anime is TOTALLY out of the box. It's not just your decent anime, it's an anime with maximum entertainment and storyline. Even shounen fans might not like it but for those who truly seek PURE entertainment rather than fanservice, this is your WISE choice.
PS: The first 7 episode is indeed kinda boring and confusing, bear with it and you'll taste the delight onwards. (show less)
This is one of the best action/drama animes I've watched. The fight scenes are awesome, the dialogue is awesome and the characters are awesome. Joseph kinda reminds me of Kira Yamato from Gundam SEED but I wont say anything more that might make me accidentally spoil the anime, so just find out for yourselves and watch this awe inspiring anime!
If you don't watch anything else anime related make sure you watch this first. The story is really good and addicting, but also sad at the same time. You will care about the characters and what happens to them, and the music is really good too.
At first I didn't want to see this because it was half anime and half 3D, but the 3D ain't bad because the fight scenes are flawess and fast-paced they did a really good job. Its wayyy better than how marvel did Ironman imo. The regular animation is top notch too.
