Based on the (rather loose) videogame adaptation of the famous 14th century poem, Dante's Inferno follows tortured Christian warrior Dante as he chases the soul of his beloved Beatrice through the 9 circles of Hell, guided by the spirit of Virgil the poet. In each circle Dante is confronted by his own sins committed during the Crusades, as well as a bevy of gruesome beasts and fallen rulers on his way to a final confrontation with Satan himself, who intends on making Beatrice his infernal bride.

This movie is good. It retells the Divine Comedy in a great way that will suit the teenagers or maybe present audience. If you want a adventure-slasher movie, this is for you. You will not be bored. You'll be amazed how the plot have been stitched through recollection.
Very good movie, yes, the changes in animation are unusual but whatever, its all nicely done. After seeing this movie, I wanted to go play the game and have a blast fighting through Hell and eventually Lucifer himself!
it's an awesome movie, for those that are stuck without a console you can now see the story behind the game, witch is very nice. At first it is a little strange the fact that after each hell the animation changes, but that ain't always a bad thing.
Action packed and great plot worth watching.
though i didn't actually played the game i must say i was taken away by the amazing animation and story of this anime adaptation! for some who knows the "real Dante's Inferno" story there was a lot that was made different but considering this was a playstation game to begin with this can be put aside. Each episode is well animated and action packed! each stages of hell is also well made as well as the characters and enemies that inhabited it! this really did justice to the game despite being too short it will certainly convinced someone to actually (read more)

Movie was really good. I really enjoyed the different styles of Anime through the progression of the movies. It is very pointless to watch the movie after you have played the video game. I watched an hour recap of what I spent a few days to acheive. If you are tossed between the movie or the video game, pick the video game and story line is much better than the hour recap!

This 'animated epic,' although somewhat interesting in its own right, is nothing like Dante's poem. The action is good, but the story has been simplified and twisted to an completely unrealistic and cliche level.
A combination of classic storyline and "old school" animation, in the style of classics such as "ninja scroll" and "Vampire Hunter D" Thankfully true to the 14th century poem of the same name.
A top watch for any true anime fan, who's tired of the revent wave of bubblegum anime and excessive CGI.
