The manga is quite good. (Blood, Action, Tears, very dear characters and "fanservice" *Q* .) Not to say AWESOME! Little drawback: I didn't liked the Voice of Ganta from the start, becauce I know it from Hitsugaya Toshiro (Bleach), and to bear with this crybaby all the time, was kind of... *sight* you know? but thats a thing, i can easily forgive, when OP and Ending-theme are so fucking awesome, that I almost yell happily the opening song instead of "singing" oO' ühm... kay...
the real and most importent Mistake is: IT! IS! TOO! SHORT! ~T0T~
I wished, they would do the Anime just FOR ONCE like it is in the original (the manga).
Its always a pain in the ass, when an Anime with so much potencial (?... sry. my english sucks, cause I'm from germany and sucked at learning vocabularies and stuff. =///=° ) stops after just 12 episodes.
Deadman Wonderland could become a cult-anime/manga like bleach, one piece, naruto and so on.
But since the manga-chaps come as often as I need to set the clock for summer and wintertime, I fear that many fans will get tired soon, because the anime stopped at the best point, when things were finally starting to get interesting in because of Shiros and Gantas past and everything while the manga let his fans wait.... and wait .... and wait.... aaaaaaand waaaaait.... to get more crazy than Shiro-Chan ever could be =^=
So let us chant: "WE WANT MORE OF DEADMAN WONDERLAND!" T0T "PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!"

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
