Summary:
The setting for Diebuster takes place following the events of the series Gunbuster. Mankind's existence is threatened by large monsters that navigate deep space and view humans as a plague that infests the cosmos. Nono, a country girl that dreams of becoming a space pilot, has a serendipitous encounter with a teenager that is part of an elite faction of pilots known as Topless. Driven by Nono's admiration for her new friend and other idols, she struggles to find her place and help protect humanity from the wrath of the space monsters.

Most of the space anime shows that I have seen centered around humans fighting other humans, but this series focuses on a human struggle against an alien force. It reminds me a little of starship troopers, in that the space aliens are similar to giant space bugs. Totally check this show out if you are into action shows that take place in space.
NOTE: I FOUND THE 5th EPISODE LISTED UNDER Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Episode 5. THE ENTIRE SERIES IS ON THIS SITE... ONE OF THE FILES IS JUST LISTED WRONG.
Although Diebuster can serve as a stand-alone series, it will make more sense if you watched Gunbuster. That being said, Diebuster is way better than Gunbuster... which is largely a reflection of the time discrepancy between when the two series were created. I decided to watch this show because of all the scenes that are used in Nostromo AMVs (if you dont know who that is, you should youtube some of his AMVs), and was completely satisfied with the second series in the Gunbuster universe. If you like space or mech themed anime, I would recommend watching Diebuster.
