This is one of those animes that you either hate it immediately because the story looks so ridiculous or fall in love at first sight because the story premise so refreshing and interesting. IMO, the idea of highschool girls operating tanks as part of their school curriculum and the whole town being built upon an aircraft carrier is just amazing. Also the animation is really nice, and I really appreciate how the various tanks are meticulously drawn.
