Sho moves into his great aunt's house and soon discovers the presence of tiny people, the Borrowers, living there. A 14-year-old Borrower named Arrietty strives to prove herself by helping her father gather materials that her family needs from Sho's new home. However, Arrietty and Sho meet, breaking the rule that humans must not know about the Borrowers' existence. As Sho and Arrietty's relationship develops, human interference endangers the Borrowers' lives. Arrietty and Sho work together to try and protect the Borrowers' way of life.
When you think of 'The Borrowers' you're probably going to think of that old movie you probably watched as a kid full of slapstick and will want to give this a miss.
DON'T.
While it's basically the same premise; little people living inside the walls inside a house get discovered by a small boy, but somehow Ghibli pulls it's magic and it's a delightful story with deep undertones.

You may or may not know the well known novel "The Borrower". It had made into several movies and series both normal or animated. Karigurashi no Arrietty is an adaption of that novel with japanese's flavour, Ghibli's one. Nothing new about it expect it is soft, gentle and partly touching production.
All who would like to complete their remarkable collection of fine movies, Enjoy.
