Based off the manga "Kingdom"
In the Warring States Period of ancient China (475-221 BCE), Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of one day proving themselves on the battlefield. One day, however, Hyou is taken to the palace by a minister. Winding up on the losing side of a power-struggle, Hyou manages to return to the village, barely alive. Great Anime, Just get past the first nine or so episodes and everything will get better and better. Plus season 2 is on a whole different scale. I have a review there which explains more. This is now one of my top 10 animes. Again if you can get past the first few episodes you most likely won't regret it as I love how everything has evolved and in this case the animation as well. As another said this anime is a true gem. I hope more give it a shot and being a guy who has watch hundreds of animes it's nice to see something new! Has a great story (read more)

Has a great story with some interesting philosophy, with even an even better political struggle, leading in to season 2 and grand battles with thousands of soldiers on the field of war. May a general rise to be the greatest under the sun!? (show less)

So I got interested in this anime after someone mentioned the name in one anime fan page at Facebook and I took a chance. I have been watching animes for over 8 years now and these days there are rarely animes worth my time. And there was just watching the first episode about two orphan servant boys who became fascinated with warfare after watching a full scale war in Ancient China. The Story evolves and one of them ended up in the royal castle. His name is Piao. Leaving his friend Xin, with whom he had over thousand fearsome battles was not easy (read more)

The plot has Kings, Princes, Ministers, Fierce Warriors, Martial Art Sword fight. After a few episodes you will like the character Xin who reminds me of Luffy.
I am currently watching episode 9 and I have to say that there has not yet been a dull moment.
If you are looking for an anime that has strategy, philosophy and lots of fighting, you should not wait any further for Kingdom will meet your desire. (show less)
I am liking this show alot. Had a nice quick start. Characters are developing well and i always like the loud mouthed strong type of hero lol. Action is nice and balanced as well so far.
