Based off the manga "Kingdom"
In the Warring States Period of ancient China (475-221 BCE), Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of one day proving themselves on the battlefield. One day, however, Hyou is taken to the palace by a minister. Winding up on the losing side of a power-struggle, Hyou manages to return to the village, barely alive. Shin then meets a boy who closely resembles Hyou, Ei Sei. For now he is the king of Qin; later he will become the emperor Shi Huangdi. |

I have to mention this first, the animations at times is really bad. They go between a digital rendition to actual drawing and the digital looks cheap, like something from a free online video game but the story so far is compelling and the mishmash of Chinese history and fiction is entertaining.
The character development has been good and I am interested to see where the story goes from the cliff hanger.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
