Should I say 'as expected of Japanese?' It looks like the technological based culture couldn't even leave the hallowed halls of magic alone, and I like every moment of it!

A very creative take on the world of magic, and a refreshingly badasss main character who truly carried the first episode completely for me. I have a lot of grief against such characters usually, but in this case he really rounds the show.

The world surrounding it is fun to explore, and I could tell that there was a lot of story behind the anime, which is why I went to read the entire first volume of the light novel, because I couldn't wait for the new episodes, and suspected there was more to the show than they could hope to animate. And I was right.

Watched 4 episodes so far, and I'm looking forward to the rest. The selling points are the setting, the character and action. Definitely worth a watch. This anime also hits the ground running, so it's safe to say that if you're not interested by the first episode it may not be for you.

I'm giving it a 7.5 - 8/10. My thoughts may change depending on what I see, but i'm sure they'll be around that level.

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
