Summary:
It is the year After Colony 195, and war between the Space Colonies and Earth has begun. To give the colonies an edge, they send 5 young soldiers, trained to perfection, to earth in the most powerful of Mobile Suits-Gundams. With their arrival, the tide of the war changes as they battle against the Earth forces and the Colonies of their origin.
in my opinion, its one of the best installments in the series. it has very good story, and the weaponry depictions seem a lot more realistic and close to reality. its a story thats not so out of dimention like some of the other gundams! and the characters are much more likeable than most other installments. its a mid 90's gundam series thats comfortably better in animation quality than 80's installments and overall better story the the newer gundams with very few exceptions!
Absolutely love Gundam Wing (watched this series so many times)! The story was great, the characters was great, the Gundam design was Great ^^ it may not be the best Gundam series for everyone but its a definite recommended watch.

If anyone remembers watching this on Toonami you'll remember how even if you didn't understand the politics the show was great. If you're new to watching this you'll find a great older anime that has many plot twists and a couple things to keep you interested along with what seems to be so uncommon now days, a lack of filler. The dialogue can be clunky at times but it doesn't detract from the experience. Animations are very old too so they're not like Ghost in the Shell.
What makes this series pretty good is that it houses an original story of its own and for the first time we see all of the Gundam pilots being united together despite their differences. Two things to note is that there is no Haro or even beings like Newtypes and Coordinators in this series.
The Gundum wing series is a great mecha anime, with lots of big battles, twists in the story and great characters.
I cant say much about the dialogue,i have only watched the English dub version and its not bad, sometimes its laughable but that happens once in 10 episodes. There are some times i thought that there is more talking then battles for a Mecha anime, but as the episodes progressed it only got better and more fun to watch.
Sure the animations are not so great compared to the newer gundam Series, but i didnt find them that much big of a deal. (read more)

And compared to the Gundam seed and Seed destiny series, there arent that many deaths in the show, when you think one of the characters is gonna die,he somehow gets to live.
Anyway, its a must watch for a gundam fan or any fan of the Mecha or Sci fi genre. (show less)

so nostalgic!! I watched this a looooooong time ago! (also in Arabic ) but not as good as japanese! I really liked it! even though I'm not that much into mecha! but this is great! And HIRO is also great!!!
-This series is similar to Gundam OO in some way, except that the Gundam pilots do not work with each other, and individually, the Wing pilots kick ass more than the OO pilots.
-Story's good with a blend of military+commando+politics+different viewpoints(generals/officers,soldiers,civilians,ex-officers,etc.). And not too much on romance (which is boring IMO).
- Seiyu cast is VERY strong (led by Midorikawa Hikaru and Koyasu Takehito)
- While the graphics and sound effects..well, can't expect too much from a 15 years old anime.
- A must watch (read more)
