Summary:
In the year 2015, the Angels, huge, tremendously powerful, alien war machines, appear in Tokyo for the second time. The only hope for Mankind`s survival lies in the Evangelion, a humanoid fighting machine developed by NERV, a special United Nations agency. Capable of withstanding anything the Angels can dish out, the Evangelion`s one drawback lies in the limited number of people able to pilot them. Only a handful of teenagers, all born fourteen years ago, nine months after the Angels first appeared, are able to interface with the Evangelion. One such teenager is Shinji Ikari, whose father heads the NERV team that developed and maintains the Evangelion. Thrust into a maelstrom of battle and events that he does not understand, Shinji is forced to plumb the depths of his own inner resources for the courage and strength to not only fight, but to survive, or risk losing everything.
It is weird that they say this anime is a cornerstone for some people. For me it is an anime where the storyline goes down and down while the episodes are going on. They tried to provide some psychological concepts, but it is really very boring. Upto 13th Episode you will enjoy, and then you will hardly go on till to the end. I do not recommend this anime for anyone, since it is just a waste of time.
what a boring anime..i recommend people to not watch this anime...so boring. a waste of time..

This series had such a possibility of being great, but it just did not care.
Story: the idea got me interested, look like one of those oldies with just blood and gore, but it ended up being about lownlines.
Entertainment: the concept was realy good, it got me drawn in, as it continued in the series it just got more and more of a let down.
Story (2/5) : The story is badly constructed. The point of the anime is to focus on the character rather than the story, but the characters are so stupid and annoying. Some people say the characters are "real", I think not. Shinji is the most boring character I've never encountered, the philosophical and psychological approach is an epic fail. Then you have the silent mysterious girl (good thing she's silent, otherwise she would say crap like the other characters), then the obvious tsundere retarted beautiful European girl. They wasted so much time (read more)

They wasted so much time on their average life crap that they didn't have time to focus on the story. And guess what ? They've put so much information in one episode that I didn't even paid attention to 50% of it because things went to fast.
Dialogue (1/5) : No, just, no. It was piercing my ears.
Animation (4/5) : For a 1995 anime it was very great animated. Too bad the content of the anime was crap.
