Why didn't they follow Watsuki's manga magnificent and extremely happy end? Kenshin deserved a better and more pleasant end, as Watsuki (the creator) stated. I am a 100% Ruroken fan and i was a bit disapointed of it. Anyway, it's a movie ,based on the great Ruroken anime heroes, so it has to be at least good. If you like the "heavy" drama and the miserable endings, you'll surely enjoy this. But if you are a rurouken fan, try not to shed tears of sadness when you watch Kenshin dying on Kaoru's arms. Just finished watching for the second time and i must say it is still one of my all time favorites and that's saying alot.
For those who have seen ruruori kenshin series
This ova concludes one of the best animes of all time in a bittersweet way.
This is a tragic heartfelt ending to a breataking story of redemtion, love and vengence, a must see to any and all anime lovers.
I loved this anime, it has a good story great characters and is really funny. The way Kenshin speaks is adorable, he reminds me of Goku a little when he gets pissed though. I highly recommended it is you like a bit of story, humor, morals and romance in your action shows.
This story is AMAZING! I cried my eyes out...AND that means something! I'm usually not very emotional, but at the end of this Movie I was speechless. It was EXTREMELY sad, but at the same time VERY romantic and sweet.
If you like to watch animes with sad endings then I can highly recommend this OVA! :)
