Continuing where the first series left off, it follows Kraft Lawrence a experienced traveling merchant and his sharp tongued wolf god companion Holo on their journey to return to Holo's home to the north called Yoitsu. A tender relationship has blossomed between the characters, as they make deals, travel between cities, encounter religious fanatics or vice versa and mostly just do what a traveling merchant has to do to get by.

This show isnt all about diehard action. Its about a travelling merchant who comes across a wolf deity called Holo.
She hasnt travelled in several hundreds of years so she asks him if he can bring her to the north.
But travelling to the north isnt so easy as you would think. Theres the danger of the church finding her and there has to be money to put food on the table.

If you like animes with a good story with some comedy and romance that doesnt revolve around diehard action, then this is deffinitly something for you! (show less)
Spice and Wolf was captivating, you could really feel the romance, the storyline was well written, the animation and artwork was spectacular. Every conversation is easy to follow, and it still keeps your attention. It is definitely recommended for any viewers (18+ as it does contain nudity and violence). Character development and storyline follow-through was very well done throughout the series. Each new character was unique, and by the end, you were satisfied with how the story went.

I absolutely adore this anime!!!! The base story is awesome! Finally! A show where the wolf is not the enemy!
original, not cliche at all, awesome adaptation to an anime based on old folklore. Cute, funny, dramatic, and romantic! gotta love it! well rounded dialouges and characters!
