I only got into this anime because a friend recommended it to me, and though I still have to hit her over the head for being weird, I also have to thank her for recommending this. Stella Girls' Academy High School Division Class C-3 is completely bizarre, however it's also oddly entertaining.
I've seen the first three episodes, and I must admit I can't really see where the story is going. That's good since it means it's unpredictable, and bad since the storyline is quite slow and pretty much pointless so far (there's no particular conflict; only the main character's quest to change, and I'm curious to see how much she does, but it's not exactly the most intriguing or new of setups). And the characters seem little more than sketches so far in terms of personality (e.g. little is seen of their respective backgrounds), though their takes on airsoft are so over-the-top sometimes it's funny again. The dialogue is fast and has its funny moments, however, and the main attraction, airsoft action, is still there. The animation's pretty much flawless, though the art is rather parody-reminiscent some of the time (shoujo-style pink bubbles vs. darker airsoft tones/imaginary war scenes >_>). The music generally fits.
I don't really know what to make of this anime. I would have expected far more comedy judging from the tags, or more story from the "girl joins club to change herself" setup; however even if that both is kinda lacking so far, there's a good amount of funny moments, and the airsoft action and competitions make for good entertainment. It also helps that the animation is pretty good and almost bug-free.
7.5/10 from me; I'm slightly hesitant with this one, however curious to see if it's going anywhere. (show less)
