Six months after the conclusion of the L5 Campaign and the DC War, the crews of the PT carriers, Hagane and Hiryuu Custom have gone their separate ways. They are not far apart for long, however, as the remnants of the DC soon begin to push against the Federation Forces with newly acquired resources. A mysterious organization, the Shadow Mirror, has begun to arm them with weapons and robots that should not exist. Compounding matters, inter-dimensional entities known as Einsts begin to appear around the World and seem to share a psychic connection with ATX pilots, Kyosuke Nanbu and Excellen Browning. Even worse, aliens calling themselves, The Inspectors, have arrived from outer space with plans to retake the White Star and finish the job the Aerogators could not. As this new, four sided war begins, Lamia Loveless, a Shadow Mirror operative sent to spy on the Federation Forces must choose between her orders and her new found friends among the Hagane and Hiryuu crews.

What an SRW anime should be

Immediately you notice that this is a very big step up from the previous series, Divine wars.
The focus is on The mechs being awesome and kicking ass, and the animation quality is far better than a lot of other mecha i've seen. As a comparison, the quality of animation and fight choreography easily blows Gundam seed out of the water.
Apart from that, all the Characters are unique and memorable on their own ways. Any clich'e characters are kinda designed to embrace their clich'e.
The mech designs are awesome, just like in the game.

The story will probably be a bit challenging to grasp in it's entirety if you havent played the games or at least seen Divine wars, but having watched this anime with people completely unfamiliar with anything to do with super robot wars, they are loving it for the fights, mecha, and character designs, even though they dont completely grasp some of the more in-depth aspects of the story.
The use of many of the tracks from the games, especially many of the character theme tunes is also amazing.
Overall, having seen the first 9 eps so far, I rate this anime very highly. I am a massive fan of the games, but any bias seems to be curbed by the fact that for people discovering SRW for the first time, they are loving it just as much as I am. (show less)
there is only 2 episodes of this anime so far.. i haven't gotten around to look if there is a manga. but ive seen both episodes of this anime.. and i must say.. so far. its shows a lot of promise.
the animation on this anime is quite nice.. good movements in the mechas. and nice looking too. almost as good as gundam 00. the battle scenes are quite hectic and shifts a lot. but easy to follow since the mechas are so distinguishable.

the dialogue is well thought of. but i found in the battle scenes it got a bit short and confusing. since ive not gotten to recognize the different characters to different affiliations. but this shuld improve over time.
i wold recommend this anime... atlest the 2 first episodes. and since i cant wait for the 3rd episode.. i wold claim the entertainment level of this anime is excellent.. well atlest so far in to it..
