Summary:
1 year after the SAO incident, Kirito is approached by Seijiro Kikuoka from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Department “VR Division” with a rather peculiar request.
That was an investigation on the “Death Gun” incident that occurred in the gun and steel filled VRMMO called Gun Gale Online (GGO). “Players who are shot by a mysterious avatar with a jet black gun lose their lives even in the real world…” Failing to turn down Kikuoka’s bizarre request, Kirito logs in to GGO even though he is not completely convinced that the virtual world could physically affect the real world.
Kirito wanders in an unfamiliar world in order to gain any clues about the “Death Gun.” Then, a female sniper named Sinon who owns a gigantic “Hecate II” rifle extends Kirito a helping hand. With Sinon’s help, Kirito decides to enter the “Bullet of Bullets,” a large tournament to choose the most powerful gunner within the realm of GGO, in hopes to become the target of the “Death Gun” and make direct contact with the mysterious avatar.
well, don't get me wrong. i enjoyed watching both seasons of SAO, but in my eyes, it's nothing special. i don't get why it's so overhyped,
- (trapped) Players in a MMO? well, happened to be already in the .hack// series.
- Strong main, harem of girlies in love with him? also happened in several series, nothing new.
WHAT I LIKED:
- easy story, switch of brain and just watch.
- quite good animation. have seen a lots that were worse animated.
- very nice soundtrack.
WHAT I NOT LIKED THAT MUCH:
- Storyholes. lots. of. Storyholes. (well, (read more)

- too predictable story. seriously. even the twists are predictable.
- all chars are too stereotyped. strong main, lil sister secretly in love with him, dumb antagonists... meeeeeh.
- it's a series about gaming? why not more MMO-Action? more side-infos about classes, races, GUI, mechanics, etc?
overall rating: i'll give 6/10 points, because it's just above average. it's a nice lovestory with ups, downs and the usual dramatics, but nothing to freak out about. (show less)

Compared to the first SAO, this one is really boring. It's so melodramatic and filled with nonsensical righteousness. Makes the anime uninteresting and unbearable to watch.

Great Story! As expected from SAO :).As always Kirito is still strong and skillful at the very first but still struggle from unique and mysterious enemies. i thought kirito became a female character in GGO that makes me feel uninterested at first but thankfully that's not the case :D, its awesome to think that a sword user character is entering in a Gun world and hoping for more good episodes. (P.S I really like episode 9) :)

Was hoping they'd make the phantom bullet arc. Entertaining, emotional and accurate to the novels. Simply a great anime.
