Antique Bakery was the best shounen ai anime I'd ever seen. The story had describe the taste, flavour, aroma and sweetness of every cake and deserts. The four main characters are hilarious especially Chikage who was extremelly clumsy. Ono was the type of guy who fall for every man he love, whether gay or straight. Tachibana was funny but serious when it came too girls. It has been shown that Tachibana was flirty on girls, but hate him when he was in high-school when he was too harsh on Ono.
The Art they design was special it gave out a little (read more)

The Art they design was special it gave out a little 3D effect if you look closely. The animations are good too, with good character development and nice background music.
Overall..... I think this this is a good anime. If you love shounen-ai or not, you must watch Antique Bakery as it is funny in all the ways~ :) (show less)
There's something about this anime that makes one very receptive to the things happening there. It's one of the few shows that can make me laugh and hurt and then sigh with every switch of the mood they presented.
The characters, with their quirks and flaws somehow balance each other out. They are a dysfunctional bunch who manage to heal each others' wounds, somehow. Of course, they are exasperated at each other often (this is where the comic relief comes in), but it's only because they get along. Somehow.

The pace of the anime was fast, if you consider the storyline, but the way delivered it was in a sort of lovely lazy way that just sucks you in. The OST matched each episode quite well; the washed out quality of the videos actually suited the story.
I just loved everything :)
...Also, it makes me crave so hard for cake. (show less)
This is so different from anything else I have ever seen Fumi Yoshinaga is a Genius (She wrote the manga's)
So addictive I couldn't stop watching it until the end! Though I would have liked a more through ending:)
I really recommend this for anyone who is tired of the same old story line and wants something fresh and different:)
There's a lack of story/plot (not surprising since it only spans 12 episodes). It mostly concentrates on everyone's background and how they overcome their personal problems to make a successful bakery. But the anime is very entertaining (I actually LOL a couple of times). Despite the lack of story, I wouldn’t change anything about it.
