Summary:
Two brothers lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of "alchemy", they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails, and as a toll for using this type of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs - "automail" - to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher's Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses his/her alchemy for the military.
This is the best anime series I ever watched! This anime has the best ever story line.

the story plot is great. the jokes take in the perfect place, so it's really funny even in thriller conditions. but also it's tearing you so much...

Watched the old one and then this and thankfully it followed the manga which i really enjoyed. Unlike the old FMA it was not full of jokes and gags but rather serious for those who read the manga you know that the story is well constructed and a must watch.
Amazing idea for story , Funny dialogues , 9/10 animation
And a great entertainment with an amazing Ending !

It's one of best animes I have ever seen. Simply awesome. Story line is wayyy more than excellent and the characters, the fights, the music r all spectacular. A must watch for all. And this anime in spite of having so much comedy is the saddest anime there is. Really an all rounder anime for me/
