| Summary: |
Sakuragi Hanamichi is a junior high punk used to getting into fights and being rejected by girls but upon entering high school he meets the girl of his dreams, Haruko Akagi. He will do anything in order to win her heart including joining the school basketball team that is aiming to conquer the nation lead by Haruko's brother. The problem is that Sakuragi has never played basketball before and a freshman sensation is stealing the spotlight and Haruko's affection from him. |

I found slam dunk a bit hard to get through. The story is sold, there are very clear themes and a plot behind it. its pretty funny, it has its moments in every episode. the dialogue and rivalry is alright, if a little repeditive, and the animation is atrocious, but thats more to do with how long ago the series came out. Definately worth giving a chance to, even if, like me, you don't like basketball, you learn a lot about the sport while watching

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
