On the first day of high school a beautiful girl named Haruhi Suzumiya introduces herself as having "no interest in ordinary humans". She asks for any aliens, time travelers, sliders or espers to join her. Watching her weird behaviour is Kyon who sits in front of Haruhi and is the only person who talks to her. When Kyon comments about Haruhi's joining every club in school and then quitting he unwittingly gives Haruhi an idea to start her own after school club. Thereafter Kyon and several others find themselves dragged, literally, into the Save our world by Overloading it with fun Suzumiya Haruhi's Brigade (the S.O.S. Brigade for short).

I find myself conflicted about this Anime, on one hand we have more Haruhi Suzumiya, that is never a bad thing, as she is just crazy enough that she can almost carry a series by herself.... but then we go with the Endless Eight..... A story arc that takes up eight of these episodes. Normally a good eight episode story arc is something to behold and enjoy in an Anime series, however there is one critical reason why this is not the case.

EVERY EPISODE IS THE SAME. Aside from a few minor differences, the Yukata's they wear are different during the festival, various snipets of Dialog is different between the episodes.... Each episode has its own animation, they never really re-used it, but its a case of "Groundhod Day" that should have taken maybe.... MAYBE three episodes to resolve, and instead we get EIGHT episodes of the exact same story.... its rare that I skip through parts of the show itself just to get to the different parts, yet by the end of this arc, I can't help but think that I didn't watch much of it.
Possibly made worse by the story arc that followed it.... well I swear that they did the same darn storyline in the previous Haruhi series, to see so much recycled really does drag down on the enjoyment factor.
Small consolation though we only have eight episodes of the repeats... poor Yuki remembers ALL 15,000+ of them. (show less)
Unforgivable! Half of this serie is just 8 variations of one episode.
The episodes are okay and I enjoyed the others but it was so annoying to watch the same thing over and over again.
If I would recommend this to anyone, I would have them skip episodes 3 to 8.
This really can't live up to the reputation of the first season but what would you expect.
